OUR STORY
From latch hooking to leading Tampa Bay's most vibrant rug tufting studio — the story behind The Tuft Spot.
BUILT FROM
PASSION.
At The Tuft Spot, we welcome everyone to connect with their inner creative and experience the real joy of making. We believe there's something deeply fulfilling about creating something with your own hands — and we're here to make that experience accessible, fun, and unforgettable for every single person who walks through our door.
No experience needed. No artistic background required. Just your imagination, some colorful yarn, and a willingness to try something new.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
The Tuft Spot started as a passion project. Growing up, I was always latch hooking — it was just something I did, a quiet creative outlet that I loved. As an adult, I stumbled onto tufting through "YouTube University," and I was immediately hooked. I taught myself everything I could and became completely obsessed.
What started as something I did alone at home quickly grew into something I knew I had to share with other people. I watched what happened when someone picked up a tufting gun for the very first time — the way their eyes lit up, the way they got completely lost in the process — and I thought: everyone needs to feel this.
Opening the studio was never just about rugs. It was about creating a space where people could slow down, get out of their heads, and make something they're genuinely proud of. I've watched people walk in nervous and walk out glowing, holding something they made entirely with their own hands. That transformation never gets old.
Whether you're an artist, a total beginner, or someone who just needs a creative outlet — this place is for you. I built The Tuft Spot to be welcoming to everyone, and that's something I'll never stop working toward.
