our story
The Tuft Spot started as a passion project
I originally just wanted to make my own area rug by hand. Growing up, I used to latch hook all the time, so I thought, why not try it again as an adult? Easy enough… right?
That curiosity led me down a rabbit hole where I stumbled across tufting, and instantly I was hooked. Because why not try something new? It felt like a modern-day version of something I already loved as a kid, just bigger, bolder, and way more fun.
Through what I like to call YouTube University, I taught myself how to tuft. But more than learning a new skill, I found a personal connection to the craft. Watching something come together strand by strand was both challenging and rewarding, and that feeling was too good not to share.
That personal connection is what inspired The Tuft Spot. What started as a curiosity turned into a space where others can tap into their creativity, try something new, and walk away proud of what they made.
